Biography of Margaret

Margaret Tobin was born July 18th 1862 in Hannibal, Missouri. She died October 26th 1932 at the age of 65 in New York city. Margaret’s home town was in Denver, Colorado. In 1886 Margaret married James Joseph brown then she became Margaret brown. Many of Margaret’s friends just called her Molly which then leads to her tittle from the titanic “the unsinkable Molly brown”. Molly and James had two children together throughout their marriage. She was a Roman Catholic. She went to school to be a Carnegie institute, her job was a socialist activist and she made $700 a month. Today that is worth $18374 a month. Her net worth when she was alive was $238000, today that is $3353292. She became famous after surviving the titanic sinking. She became so famous because she helped many others board lifeboats while on the ship before she boarded life boat number six saving her life. The reason she is known as “the unsinkable Molly Brown” is because she was acting as if she were unsinkable because she wanted everyone to be safe before herself. After she died in 1960 a Broadway play base on her life was created then in 1964 a movie, both called “the unsinkable Molly Brown”.
